What We Do
Ally Labs is a contract manufacturing and product development partner based in Evanston, Wyoming. We operate a 183,000 square foot, cGMP compliant, FDA-registered facility, and we bring more than 40 years of formulation and manufacturing experience to every project. We work with emerging, scaling, and established brands across the country, and we meet each one where they are.
Ally Labs supports brands through three pathways: New Product Development, Build on a Pre-Stabilized Base, and Tech Transfer. Each pathway begins from a different starting point and moves through the review, testing, sourcing, packaging, and production-readiness steps appropriate to the project.
Three Pathways to Production
New Product Development
You have a concept, but no formula yet. Maybe you know the category and the positioning, or maybe you're still working out what the product should be. Either way, New Product Development takes your idea from concept to a manufacturable formula.
Our team reviews your goals, your target market, and your budget, then builds a formulation plan around them. Where applicable, custom formulas move through the defined stability and review required for the project. Once the formula is approved, required testing is addressed, materials and packaging are confirmed or on-site, and the project is production-ready, typical production lead time is approximately six to eight weeks. Actual timing varies by project and production scheduling. You get a partner who can shape product direction based on market opportunity, not just execute a spec you hand over.
Build on a Pre-Stabilized Base
Start from an established formulation foundation and customize supported elements around your brand. Depending on the base and requested changes, this can reduce early formulation work and may help move the project into sampling sooner.
These are not white label or shared-use finished products. We retain ownership of our internal base formulas, and you can customize supported elements to create a differentiated version aligned with your brand. Fragrance, texture, active ingredients, and packaging fit are all reviewed with you before anything moves toward production. This pathway works well for a new SKU, a line extension, or a seasonal product.
Tech Transfer
Switching manufacturers is a real decision, and it should feel like one. If you already have a product in market, you may be unhappy with your current manufacturer, outgrowing them, or moving away for strategic reasons. Tech Transfer is a structured process designed to support transition planning and reduce production-transfer risk.
Move an existing product through a structured review of formula, documentation, sourcing, packaging, and production requirements. When formula access or documentation is limited, our R&D team can evaluate reverse engineering or reformulation as a separate development path.

Which Pathway Fits Your Brand
Some brands know exactly which pathway they need. Others aren't sure yet, and that's fine. If none of these feel like an exact fit, talk to our team — we'll help you figure out where your project belongs, or scope something custom if it doesn't fit neatly into one path.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not sure which pathway fits? Here's how brands usually decide.

Talk to our teamHow do I know which pathway is right for my brand?
Most brands sort themselves into a pathway based on how much of the product already exists. If you have a formula and just need a new manufacturer, that's Tech Transfer. If you want a running start, Build on a Pre-Stabilized Base gets you there faster than starting cold. If neither fits, New Product Development builds the formula from the ground up.
Can I move between pathways if my needs change?
Yes. Projects sometimes shift once we're deeper into review. A Build on a Pre-Stabilized Base project might reveal that your brand needs more customization than the base allows, and that can shift into a custom formulation conversation. We'll flag that as soon as it comes up.
What happens after I choose a pathway?
Our team reviews your project details first: your goals, your timeline, and any packaging or customization needs. From there, we'll follow up to talk through fit before anything moves forward. This keeps the process focused on projects that are ready to move toward production.
